Hi Everyone!! This is Nicholas, Thomas and Isabelle's wiki page! Our robot is called Wall.e!!! So far we have...
Built our Robot Wall-e! We struggled a bit because we ''accidentally" built Wall-e BACK TO FRONT!! Finally we figured it out, with some of James's help!! THANKS JAMES!! Miss Morris also helped us get back on track!
We Explored the Robot Educator on Lego Mindstorms! We learnt some really interesting facts and tips on the Robot Educator!!
We had the Pedestrian Challenge! The Pedestrian Challenge is where you had to control your Robot, make it go a certain distance and TRY NOT TO KNOCK OVER THE LEGO MAN!!!! We got an 8 which wasn't our best work but we were having some difficulties with the back wheel of our Robot!
We had the 360 spin challenge two weeks after the Pedestrian Challenge. We got a 4 because Wall-e didn't quite reach the starting point exactly. Then it took us a lot of time (and most of one session!!) to fix up the back wheel that completely came apart!!! We are getting REALLY tired of that back wheel!!!
We had the Snake which, well, WAS A HUGE FAIL!!!!!!!!! We got a 2.5 on this one!!! Even Nicholas said we all are fails!!!!!
We had the Shimmey!!! It was a huge success and we all tried our hardest!! For this effort we recieved a 4.5!!
We had the 2D shape challenge!! OUR BEST YET!! 5 OUT OF 5!!! WOOO HOOO!!!!
We have had the dance! What a great way to finish off Robotics for this term!!! Unfortunately, Wall-e wasn't charged properly so we had to leave Wall-e to charge, and we didn't get to perform, well, we did, but while Wall-e wasn't charged properly!!! SO EMBARASSING!!!!!

We completed our shimmey today. Amazingly, we were the first group finished, and we got a 4.5! We were feeling so proud at the time because it was our highest mark yet! Even Mrs Burns said she would be suprised if anyone got a five! To make things even better, we didn't even use the complete approach that Mrs Burns used! We are still hopeful that next time we can get a five on our 2D shape...

We did it!! Well, actually Isabelle did it!! After so many failed attempts on our square, Nicholas and I (Thomas) lost heart. We started talking to our friends, complaining!!!!!! While Isabelle was working away on the Square. It didn't really turn out as a Square though... IT TURNED OUT AS A DO-DECAGON!!!! SO, ISABELLE GOT A FIVE FOR US!!!!! YAY!!!! WE ARE STILL CELEBRATING!!!
We also picked our song: Moves Like Jagger by Maroon 5
1/11/11
We started on our dance and tried out all the different aspects that we came up with between all of us. We also put in some thought to our costume. We have decided to do an AFRO!!!! And some disco clothes so that our Robot would be themed in the 70's-80's, like Mic Jagger.

Today we discussed the choice of our song and the beat with it. We had a brainstorm to figure out ideas for moves that would go with the beat, and sharp, fast moves. We listened over and over again to our song that by the time we actually did a bit of our dance we were all sick of Moves Like Jagger. We hope everything in our brainstorm that we put in our dance turned out well and that everything goes to plan! We also got a bit of our dance done.

All we really did today was work on our dance!! Unfortunately, we need to get a huge move on because we are presenting our dance next week and we are no where near finished!!

Even though this wasn't a Robotics section, it is about our costume discussion out of Robotics time. We discussed what I (Isabelle) had to bring to school to make the costume. Even though I am the only girl in the 5M1 group, I think Thomas and Nicholas both could have made a bigger effort to bring SOMETHING in, because they both have sisters too!

MORNING
So, at the Robotics Preparation time in the Morning, I (Isabelle) was busy making the costume (which was REALLY HARD if you are trying to attach Barbie hair that you had just cut off the doll for the Afro) while Thomas and Nicholas were working on the dance and I was giving suggestions. Finally, during that time I (Isabelle) finished the costume on my own :( . So really, I (Isabelle) think that just myself should get the mark for the costume because I feel that it wasn't shared out equally and that it wouldn't really be fair if they got the same mark for costume as I did because they didn't put any effort into the costume and I did. good work:)
